DevOps Engineer (Mid-Level & Senior)
Location: Fort Belvoir, VA (Onsite, 5 days/week)
Clearance: TS/SCI with CI Polygraph

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced development team. This role is critical to building and maintaining secure, scalable, and automated infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Kubernetes, AWS, CI/CD, automation, Linux administration, scripting (Bash), programming (Python), and Big Data technologies.
You will be responsible for implementing infrastructure, automating deployments, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure in AWS (especially EKS).
- Support on-premise and edge infrastructure for portable equipment.
- Automate deployment processes to ensure reliability and scalability.
- Manage and maintain Kubernetes containers and AWS services.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into infrastructure.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production systems; resolve issues promptly.
- Continuously improve processes and tools for high availability and performance.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
- Education & Experience:
- 9+ years in DevOps or Software Development with a Bachelor’s degree, OR
- 7+ years with a Master’s degree, OR
- 13+ years with a High School Diploma/equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda).
- Proficient in Linux administration and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, and configuration management.
- Skilled in Python, Bash, and ideally Go.
- Familiarity with Git, Flux, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Understanding of AGILE methodologies and standard development tools.
- Certifications:
- DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance (e.g., Security+).
- Computing Environment certification (AWS, Linux, Kubernetes, etc.).
- Ability to work onsite at Ft. Belvoir, VA, and assist with workspace operations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, etc.).
- Familiarity with containers, EKS, Diode, CI/CD, Terraform.
Work Schedule: Full-time, onsite at Ft. Belvoir, VA (Monday–Friday).
